The Summer Program is the firm's primary source of identifying qualified candidates for first-year associate positions. Unsolicited resumes are also accepted and encouraged. When interviewing candidates we look for a strong academic record, proficient computer skills, law review and moot court experience, and public interest.  Although we accept resumes from all schools, our recent hires have hailed from:

• University of Mississippi
• Vanderbilt University
• Washington and Lee University.

Each summer, we select between eight and ten associates.  Although we encourage you to split your summer, we request that you spend a minimum of six weeks with us.  Once you arrive, you attend orientation where we determine your practice interests.  This allows us to customize the summer program for each student.  Throughout the program, you will have an opportunity to attend hearings, depositions, closings, and client meetings.  You receive assignments from both partners and associates, giving you the opportunity to get to know a diverse group of attorneys and staff.  We also have weekly breakfast meetings so that the entire group can meet and discuss their progression.  Our salary is competitive, and we also help you secure housing, provide free parking and a gym membership.

We also want you to get to know the CB&S team through informal social events. Last year some of our activities included:
