Our Labor and Employment Section handles a broad spectrum of labor and employment law issues, including Workers' Compensation. Much attention is given to “preventive maintenance,” i.e., counseling clients on Workers' Compensation issues before problems arise. We work with clients in developing policies and procedures that are in compliance with state Workers' Compensation statutes and which make good business sense.
We routinely provide educational seminars dealing with all aspects of Workers' Compensation, retaliatory discharge, Tennessee Drug-Free Workplace, current legislative changes, and significant appellate decisions to clients and employer groups. As issues arise, we are available to provide immediate legal and practical advice.
Inevitably, Workers' Compensation claims and lawsuits will be filed, and we then provide our clients with a vigorous defense. Each member of our labor and employment practice group is an experienced litigator. We have handled numerous cases before most state administrative agencies. Over the years, we have developed good working relationships with officials at each of those agencies. Our employment lawyers are experienced in both jury and nonjury cases, have successfully defended lawsuits in both state and federal court, and are well known and respected by both plaintiffs’ attorneys and judges.
