Sunrise Period to Block Top Level Domain (.xxx) Closes October 28th

Trademark owners and domain holders of non-adult brands who may be concerned about unauthorized registration of their brands and/or domains with an .xxx top level domain should file to block future registration in the .xxx space. The Sunrise period is now open and allows trademark owners and domain holders to “pre-reserve” the .xxx top level domain for their brands to ensure that others do not register. The Sunrise Period is set to close on October 28, 2011. Once the Sunrise period closes, there will be an application process and fee to block the .xxx registration for up to 10 years.
