Six Attorneys Join Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel

Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of six attorneys.  Rosemarie L. Bryan, William R. Hannah, James L. Hurst, Hugh J. Moore, Jr., Harold L. North, Jr. and Thomas Greenholtz recently joined the firm.

Bryan joins the firm’s Litigation and Labor and Employment Law Sections, where she will focus on business litigation, employment, antitrust and criminal law, as well as arbitration and mediation.  She is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 listed neutral and an approved arbitrator and mediator for the local federal court.  Bryan is a Fellow of the Chattanooga and Tennessee Bar Foundations and the International Society of Barristers. She is an active member of the community, serving on multiple boards including Girls, Inc. and the Tennessee River Gorge Trust.  She currently serves as President of Ballet Tennessee.  Bryan received her law degree from the University of Virginia in 1984, and previously was a shareholder at the firm of Shumacker Witt Gaither & Whitaker, P.C.

Hannah is a member of the firm’s Litigation Section, where he will focus his practice in the areas of commercial and business disputes, product liability, personal injury, employment, insurance, construction, and transportation.  A graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, Hannah is licensed to practice in Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th, 6th, and 11th Circuits, and several U.S. District Courts.  He is a member of the American, Chattanooga, Federal and Tennessee Bar Associations, as well as the Mississippi Bar and State Bar of Georgia. He is also a member of the Chattanooga Chapter of the American Inns of Court, the Defense Research Institute, the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association, and the Transportation Lawyers Association.  Prior to joining the firm, Hannah practiced as a shareholder with Shumacker Witt Gaither & Whitaker, P.C.

Hurst joins the firm's Business Section, concentrating his practice on commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, real estate development, and healthcare transactions.  He earned both his law degree and M.H.A. from University of Memphis, where he was the recipient of the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence and was Founding Editor of the Tennessee Journal of Procedure and Practice.  Hurst is an active member of the American, Chattanooga and Tennessee Bar Associations, as well as the American College of Healthcare Executives. He joins the firm from Horton, Maddox & Anderson, PLLC where he was a shareholder.

Moore brings 37 years of experience to the firm’s Litigation Section, where he will concentrate his practice on business litigation, criminal law, antitrust and trade regulation and airport law.  He earned his law degree from Yale University and his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University.  Moore is a Founding Master of the local Inns of Court and is the Chairperson for the Tennessee Supreme Court Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure.  He is a Fellow of the American, Chattanooga and Tennessee Bar Foundations and American College of Trial Lawyers.  He is named in The Best Lawyers in America and currently serves as President of the Board of Directors Orange Grove Center.  Moore was a shareholder for Shumacker Witt Gaither & Whitaker, P.C. prior to joining the firm.

North also joins the firm's Litigation Section and will focus on bankruptcy and commercial litigation.  He received his law degree from the University of Memphis and is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Tennessee and before the U.S. District Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.  He is a Fellow of the Chattanooga Bar Foundation and a member of the American, Chattanooga and Tennessee Bar Associations, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the American Bankruptcy Institute. North is an active member of the community, serving as past President of the Chattanooga Bar Association, Greater Chattanooga CrimeStoppers, Inc. and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga. He is also a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church and past Chairman of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department Civil Service Board. North was previously a shareholder at Shumacker Witt Gaither & Whitaker, P.C.

Greenholtz joins the firm's Litigation Section and will practice in the areas of  commercial litigation, product liability, criminal litigation and appeals, and antitrust and trade regulation.  He is admitted to practice in Georgia and Tennessee and before U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 6th  and 11th Circuits, and several U.S. District Courts.  Greenholtz earned his law degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Tennessee, where he was Executive Editor of the Tennessee Law Review.  He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable William M. Barker of the Tennessee Supreme Court, and he presently serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He practiced as an associate with Shumacker Witt Gaither & Whitaker, P.C. prior to joining the firm.
