The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Business honored ten top students with the John C. Stophel Awards at the annual Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel Student Recognition Banquet on Friday, April 29, 2011.
The evening included a reception followed by dinner and the presentation ceremony at the University Center. This year's program featured a keynote address from Mike Walden, President of Walden Security and a 2011 College of Business Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame inductee.
The event also recognized student organizations, honor societies, merit-based scholarship recipients, Wright-Bentley Scholars and Finance and Accounting scholarship recipients.
Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel established an endowment at UTC in 2008 to honor the legacy of John C. Stophel, a founding member of the firm. Mr. Stophel practiced law for over 50 years, and during his career led numerous civic, charitable and religious efforts in the community. He served as Chairman of the University of Chattanooga Foundation Board of Trustees from 2001-2004.
