Tucson, Arizona - The National Elder Law Foundation (NELF) – the only organization approved by the American Bar Association to offer certification in the area of elder law – has announced that Dana B. Perry of Chattanooga has successfully completed its examination leading to re-certification. As part of this process, Ms. Perry was required to substantiate her ongoing expertise in the field, including continuing legal education and number of cases handled in elder law over the past five years. Ms. Perry was originally certified in 1997. Each certification period runs for a term of five years.
Certification in elder law – one of the fastest growing fields in the legal profession – will provide a measure of assurance to the public that the attorney has an in-depth working knowledge of the legal issues that impact the elderly.
Ms. Perry has practiced elder law for over ten years and focuses her practice on trusts, estate planning, conservatorships and Medicare/Medicaid issues. Ms. Perry is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law and has been a resident of Chattanooga for nine years.
