June 29, 2009
Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) recently honored shareholder Max Bahner with its Equal Justice Partner Lifetime Achievement Award during its annual Pro Bono Night.
Mr. Bahner was cited by LAET as having "supported the ideals of equal justice from the very beginning of his legal career." His wide-ranging efforts -- from volunteering with the original Chattanooga Legal Aid Society and pro bono work to encouraging governmental support for legal aid -- to assist the organization and its mission were applauded.
A non-profit organization, Legal Aid of East Tennessee provides civil legal representation to the elderly, children at risk, and low income citizens with offices in Chattanooga, Cleveland, Knoxville, Maryville, Morristown, and Johnson City, Tennessee.
