Alicia Brown Oliver

Shareholder

Alicia Oliver practices primarily in the areas of intellectual property and advertising law.  She regularly handles the prosecution of trademark and service mark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as prosecution and defense of Opposition and Cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  She is also regularly involved in IP litigation matters in both federal and state courts.  She counsels clients on branding and advertising issues, including clearance of advertising and marketing materials and social media programs.

Representative Matters

  • Assists clients with clearance searching and preparing and prosecuting trademark and service mark applications in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in foreign trademark offices throughout the world
  • Advises clients on marketing and advertising matters, including specific issues relating to Internet advertising and social media
  • Assists clients with maintenance of existing federal, state, and foreign trademark and service mark registrations
  • Assists clients with policing and defending their trademark and service mark rights, including representation in state and federal courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board
  • Assists clients with intellectual property licensing and with due diligence relating to intellectual property in business transactions
  • Represents clients in domain name disputes before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the National Arbitration Forum
