Justin B. Hosie

Shareholder

Justin Hosie is a member of the firm's Consumer Finance Group, focusing his practice on consumer financial services, the Federal Electronic Signatures Act, Truth in Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and Electronic Funds Transfer Act, as well as state regulatory compliance.

He regularly advises financial institutions regarding the FTC Consumer Information and Records Disposal Rule, electronic payment methods, Internet transactions, the Federal Arbitration Act, federal privacy laws, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.

Representative Matters

  • Assisting lenders in drafting consumer disclosures and contracts based on federal and state law
  • Assisting financial institutions in drafting third-party marketing and servicing agreements
  • Assisting financial institutions in preparing compliance programs, such as preparing Identity Theft Red Flags Programs under FACTA
  • Representing, pro bono, a consumer in an automobile credit matter.
