Rosemarie L. Bryan

Of Counsel

Rosemarie Bryan is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Labor and Employment Law Sections.  Ms. Bryan counsels clients and represents employers in all areas of employment law, ranging from discrimination and retaliation lawsuits or agency claims to questions regarding hiring/firing/retention, wages, and leave.  She has represented employers in employment lawsuits in state and federal courts as well as in mediations and arbitrations.  

Ms. Bryan has served as counsel on criminal cases, ranging from court-appointed death penalty cases to white collar crime.

Ms. Bryan served as a Commissioner for the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution, and on that court’s Board of Professional Responsibility Hearing Committee.  Ms. Bryan was born in 1951 in Erlangen, Germany.

Representative Matters

  • Represent employers in federal and state lawsuits, claims, and administrative charges in all areas of employment law.  Advise and counsel employers on these issues
  • Successful defense verdict after 4-day federal jury trial on an age discrimination lawsuit; favorable outcome for a nationwide client of federal lawsuit claiming gender discrimination after first day of trial
  • Representation of plaintiff and defendant business clients in lawsuits and disputes ranging from business torts to contract issues
  • Representation of a major soft drink bottler in defense of civil and criminal antitrust charges, and presentation of yearly antitrust compliance seminars on behalf of client for 20+ years
  • Successful defense on summary judgment of a federal Sherman Act price fixing case on behalf of a major corporation
  • Arbitrator on nationwide securities and employment claims for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority
  • Representation of indigent defendants in death penalty cases.
